Several sources, speaking privately, said there were tensions between Asselbaye and Aoki and former allies who were part of the governor's transition team after his election victory.Some of the older allies have complained that they could not easily access the governor, and were frustrated after the administration Abercrombie struggled to advance an agenda during his first legislative session and stumbled across a series of public relations and related public policy embarrassment. "I was in the room when they announced some members of the transition team they left because they wanted to spend more time with their families," Kaneko said in an email. "As the father of a 14 years, I can understand and appreciate that."Sources close to the administration Abercrombie believe the problem was primarily in communications and in the execution, not the public policy underlying. The governor, for example, offered a philosophical justification for a fee pension and a tax soda, but he and his staff did not make the necessary liaison with interest groups and legislators who may have made further along. The administration appeared unable to provide adequate explanations in a timely manner or for which the governor called for the resignation of former GovernorLinda Lingle appointed boards and key or quietly issued a proclamation of emergency to help remove unexploded ordnance.
