Pride parade set for Saturday
PRINCE ALBERT — The mayor and city council have proclaimed June 20 - 26, 2011 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Two-Spirit, and Allied Pride Week in Prince Albert.
This year’s theme is "Beyond the Rainbow -- Let Your True Colors Shine!"
The fourth annual Pride Parade is on Saturday. The lineup is at 12:30 p.m. at Fourth Avenue and River Street West and the parade begins at 1 p.m. The route goes east down River Street to First Ave East, then continues south up to 14th Street, then turns west to Central Avenue and goes north to City Hall, where the Rainbow Pride flag will be raised.
On Sunday, a family barbecue will be held at Kinsmen Park featuring bannock burgers, hotdogs, chips and pop. There will be fun activities for all ages.
