It normally happens if you are already running in almost full capacity. This is the reason why you need to regularly keep track of your free space.

Freezing also occurs if you accidentally dropped your device. Some parts may have been disturbed or moved out of its place. You can also experience this if you no longer have any power (the screen actually turns into black), or the hold is still in position or on.

How to Unfreeze An iPod

The good news is there are several ways on how to unfreeze your iPod Touch or iPod Nano. Here are some of the recommended steps:

iPod Touch with iOS 2.2.1 or any earlier version

1. Locate the Home button (found on the clickwheel). 4. Wait for the Apple logo to appear.

Frozen iPod: Do Not Forget

The steps mentioned above are the basic processes to unfreeze your iPod Touch or Nano, but they do not guarantee success at all times. Sometimes you have to do something else and hope it works.

For example, if the above steps do not unfreeze your device, you have to seriously consider restarting it. First, you need to turn it off and hold the Sleep/Wake button. Wait for the red slider to come through. Slide it to turn off the device. Then press and hold the button for Sleep/Wake. Wait for the logo of Apple to appear.

And since prevention is always better than cure, take note of these precautionary measures:
