Theater, bowling complex in Murrells Inlet sets opening date
The new theater and bowling center at Inlet Square Mall plans to open July 14 with a Harry Potter premiere, theater officials said.
Frank Theatres is putting the finishing touches on the 23,593-square-foot complex that will have 11 movie screens, each with stadium seating; 16 bowling lanes; arcade games and a Starlight Café.
The popular Harry Potter franchise, with its latest flick “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II” that is being released July 14, will help christen the new theater.
Details of opening day festivities are still being ironed out, but could include a Harry Potter costume contest, a ribbon cutting and other activities, said Kali Karellas, sales and promotional director for Frank Theatres.
Next week, the theater will start hiring to fill between 35 and 40 jobs, 15 of those full-time, Karellas said. A job fair is set for 9 a.m. Thursday in the empty store space beside Stein Mart inside the mall.
The theater complex, which mall officials say will be a boon to the shopping center, had planned to open early in the summer but ran into delays because of construction tieups, Karellas said.
“Timelines just didn’t fall together as everybody had planned,” she said.

Are you ready to take a role in the Management of Fun? Facility Manager The Facility Manager is primarily responsible for the operation of pinsetters, pinspotters, automatic scoring machines, lanes and other facility equipment at the highest level of operating proficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Updates the AMF preventative maintenance charts for the bowling center equipment as posted, (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually).
Ensures that high scoring lane conditions meet and align with USBC specifications.
Keeps a clean and organized workshop.
Facility Managers must successfully complete the AMF B- and C-Mechanic training programs for the machine type in their assigned center, as well as any other training programs developed for their position.
Ability to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays, as well as, extended workdays to support business needs.
Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: B-Mechanic(s), C-Mechanic(s) Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Assists in the day-to-day management of the bowling center from a technical perspective.
Trains lower level Mechanics (B and C) in AMF machine area safety procedures and AMF standards of operation for bowling equipment, building maintenance, and preventative maintenance programs.
